Finally!!

21May10

After 9 mo, my dress has arrived!

I’m leaving shortly to go see it, introduce myself and slip that puppy on. Wish me luck! I finally have something to wear and can FINALLY settle the great shoe debate. No pictures – sorry! Not even a teaser… You’ll have to wait, oh 57 days.

With my dress still not in yet – 8.5 mo. later… I’m still at a bit of a loss with settling on shoes.

Here are a couple I got but will be returning… including a fun YELLOW pair – Love them, they’re adorable, but just didn’t want them for this occasion…  I tried to want yellow, but I just don’t.

And I tried these – as a color/fit test to maybe order the (non returnable) custom 3.25” height

For style, height or fit, these are not in the running. However… these next two are.

These if I need a higher heel…

And these if I need a lower heel

The blues aren’t “perfect” on the Ninas but ya know what, I really like the bow! I think they’re fun and a lower heel is nice and as a girl who fears falling in heels, the ankle strap is comforting. So we’ll see! I love them both. I’ll be a bit sad either way. I’m a one-shoe bride – one of them will have to go.

So after 2 months of near non-stop wedding crafting, project organizing and wedding weekend planning, things have slowed down a LOT. Its nice :)

I don’t want to reveal EVERYTHING we’ve been working on, so while I organize various crafting photos, I’ll share another of our Etsy purchases. Since we started planning, I’ve been eyeing the Paloma’s Nest Ring Bearer Bowls. We are not having a ring bearer, per se. We’ll be asking our Best Man to do the honor of hanging onto those babies.

G and I decided on our ceremony readings a while ago, and decided to do a custom bowl with a quote from a reading from Song of Solomon – “Set me as a seal upon your heart”- love it! Its so sweet and special to us. Perfect for the initiation of our family heirloom bowl  :) – We have dreams of generations of Parkers presenting their wedding rings on this ceramic bowl. haha

I also order a tile to attach to my bouquet – for fun!

I was pleasantly surprised this morning when I pulled up to the house after an invitation press check (not successful, btw) – and saw a large yellow envelope sitting at the front door… What could this be? Some printing samples I’d requested? Some other work related items that will surely be anticlimatic to open?

No. Neither.

It is my LilaFrances “mrs parker” hanger!

This was a very fun wedding item to come home to this morning!

DIY Update

23Mar10

A new project and an old project update on the DIY page!

Check!

We had wedding-related Friday Night Date Night this weekend and got two big things DONE! One of which was picking out G’s wedding band! He tried shiny ones, smooth ones, textured ones, simple ones, big ones, small ones and he ended up picking one out. I love it! And it was so fun to see him with a ring on, too – not just me, anymore!

And I promptly asked to visit my wedding band while we were there… Its living there until July. Good thing because I’d definitely be wearing it if it was in our house!

Wow! We’re back from Disney World and can’t believe we only have 4 months left!

Grey had the “oh my gosh, its almost here and there is lots to do” moment the other night! Yea! So now at least he’s jumped in the “This Is Coming Quickly” boat with me. Its nice to have company :)

Are we there yet??

Yet another successful Etsy purchase – courtesy of RoseBudLips!

Something Old, Something Blue, Something Borrowed, Something Blue Garter Belt

Close Up Shot

I asked her to use a royal blue instead of the lighter vintage blue she had in the listing. I absolutely love it! And great service!

Since we’re not doing a garter toss, I figured I’d share it online. It will be a surprise however, for Future Husband. I have to keep SOME surprises for him!

We had a very wedding week this week! We had our tasting + finalized the menu, bought Grey his wedding suit, finally started registering, had my aunt offer to host a shower,  scheduled a day to print our invitations, and I got to spend all day Saturday making paper pinwheels – almost done!!

Wow! So much!

I really enjoy playing hostess, so most of our conversations at the tasting revolved around our guests. What will they like? What will be easiest? How will that dish work served family style? What combination of entrees will not seek revenge later that night? We decided to change the linens, picked a new entree and enjoyed the food. and then… as we were leaving, Grey and I were one of the last couples there. It was dark outside, the little white lights were on, you could see the Columbus “skyline” and then… they dimmed the lights and then it hit me.

This is actually going to happen. After 14 months of planning, its going to actually be here.

I was reminded that it’d just be the two of us, and it’ll be wonderful. So in my flood of emotion, we took in the moment and enjoyed the view. :)   Just 4.5 months that I hope go very quickly…

Dear Saint Crispin (patron saint of shoemakers),
Please let these fit when they arrive. They were on sale, in my size, have pink soles and I love them.
God bless,
Katie
